Client: NSW National Parks
Agency: KPMG Digital Experiences
Project: Audio stories and Digital backpack
My role: UI/UX designer
While working on the NSW National Parks app, I helped extend the existing product by introducing new, user-focused features while maintaining the established visual style. Rather than a full redesign, my role was to evolve the experience — continuing to reflect the app’s clean, nature-inspired aesthetic while improving functionality and usability.
A new addition was the Immersive Tours feature — a GPS-enabled audio experience that guides users through national parks using location-aware narration from park rangers. Each tour includes a map view with interactive story points. As users move through the park, they receive subtle notifications and can tap into audio content contextualised to their location, creating a more engaging and informative visit.
I also designed the Visited Parks feature, allowing users to track which parks they’ve explored. Users can manually mark a park as visited using a date selector, or receive a location-based prompt when entering a park to log the visit automatically.
